The Brands Big Bang Finale!

The season finale of the British Truck Racing Championship was once again hosted by Brands Hatch alongside their Trucks and Fireworks event. The highly anticipated weekend is extremely popular with the fans and once again tickets were completely sold out!

As always, the team was ready and raring to go with the championship title still up for grabs! Qualifying was up first, and the team brought back some great results with a P3 for Michael and a P5 for Stuart.

The first race of the weekend’s grid was set by the qualifying session which put Michael on row three and Stuart just behind on row four. It was a good start for our drivers as they began chase. Both sat in their grid positions for much of the race. Michael survived a collision with another truck that went off the track. Stuart moved up into fourth position shortly after the race was red flagged with just over 2 minutes to go. The result was declared from the standings at the time of the flag which meant a trip to the podium for Michael with a P3 and Stuart retained P4. A great first race!

The second race of the days grid was set by the second fastest times from qualifying. Stuart and Michael sat side by side on the second row. An excellent start for Michael as he roared ahead into the leading pack. He kept on the attack throughout with a close battle for those top positions. He eventually crossed the finish line P3 earning himself another trip to the podium! Stuart who also had a very close battle for fourth position as the teams jostled between themselves to get in front. He crossed the line in a well-deserved P4. Another great result for the team!

With a reverse grid for the first race of Sunday. The top eight from Saturday’s race one was reversed. This put Stuart and Michael side by side on row three. A good start again for Michael who pushed himself into the lead. Then began a close battle between front runners for those podium places. He certainly performed some fantastic defensive driving and eventually crossed the line in P2. Stuart battled on mid pack and claimed P6. Unfortunately, Michael’s results were changed to P4 later in the day due to reported track limit infringements.

Another reverse grid for the fourth race of the weekend with the top eight finishers from Saturday’s race two reversed. This put Stuart and Michael side by side again on row three. An interrupted race start as on the second lap, two trucks collided causing a red flag and the need for a race re start. The trucks lined up again in grid positions. A good start for both our drivers as all jostled for those top spots. A race with a lot of contact and plenty of track debris but our two drivers persisted, and Michael got his trophy with a P3 and Stuart just behind in P4.

The final race of the British Truck Racing Championship season’s grid put Michael on row four and Stuart on row two. Stuart had a great start and headed straight into the leading pack. He kept the pressure on throughout and got himself a well-served spot on the podium with a P2! Michael slightly further back made his way through the field and kept consistent. He made good progress and crossed the line in P5.

It was another fantastic weekend of racing for the team and a great way to finish the 2024 season. Michael has had a phenomenal season and became quite the regular on the podium finishing in fourth place overall in the Championship. A much more challenging year for Stuart who has unfortunately been plagued throughout with many mechanical problems, finished the season ninth overall.

We would like to thank all our sponsors for the incredible ongoing support, and we now look forward to working with all again during the 2025 season!
