British Truck Racing Championship – Round 1

The 2025 British Truck Racing Championship roared into life at Brands Hatch this weekend, and Team Oliver Racing delivered a thrilling, high-impact performance from start to finish. Across five fiercely contested races, the team secured multiple podiums, consistent top-ten finishes, and a spectacular 1-2 result to close out the weekend in style.

SATURDAY – DAY ONE

Race One

The season opener got underway in dramatic fashion. Stuart Oliver lined up on the front row, Martin Gibson started from the second, and Michael Oliver began from fourth on the grid after a qualifying penalty.

A fast and furious launch saw Stuart mixing it with the leaders immediately, while Martin settled into a solid P4. Michael, fighting through mid-pack chaos, was making good progress when a stranded truck brought out the red flag. The race was restarted as a five-minute sprint.

In the intense closing stages, Stuart surged into P2, securing the team’s first podium of the season. Martin drove a composed race to finish P5, while Michael showed real resilience, recovering from a spin after contact to finish P10. A solid start to the campaign with all three drivers scoring valuable points.

Race Two

With all three drivers starting in strong positions — Stuart on the front row, Michael on row two, and Martin just behind — Team Oliver Racing was ready to capitalise.

Stuart got off to a flying start, quickly taking the lead and holding it with authority. Michael recovered from early contact to climb into P3, while Martin battled on despite truck damage. A late red flag led to a restart, and Stuart once again nailed the launch to secure the team’s first win of the season.

Michael finished an impressive P4, showing great defensive driving, while Martin brought it home in P10 after a gutsy drive. A fantastic team performance capped off a strong opening day.

SUNDAY – DAY TWO

Race Three

The first reverse-grid race of the weekend flipped the top eight from Race One, placing Martin on the front row, Stuart on row four, and Michael on row six.

The race began with a chaotic first corner and a red flag. After the restart, Martin capitalised on his front-row start and surged into the lead, driving a brilliant race under pressure to defend his position. Though he narrowly lost the lead in the final lap, he crossed the line in P3, earning his first podium of the season.

Stuart worked through the pack to finish P5, while Michael staged a superb recovery after an early spin to claim P7. A gritty and determined performance across the board.

Race Four

Another reverse grid set up a challenging run with Stuart starting from row four, Michael from row three, and Martin from row five.

All three drivers made strong starts and were climbing the field when the race was brought to an early end by a red flag due to an incident elsewhere on the track. Final positions were taken from the previous lap, awarding Michael a hard-earned P3, Stuart P4, and Martin P7, another consistent team result with points for all.

Race Five

The final race of the weekend saw Team Oliver Racing deliver their most dominant performance yet.

Stuart Oliver started from row two, wasted no time taking the lead, and never looked back. Michael Oliver, from the front row, slotted in behind and held firm throughout, completing a commanding 1-2 finish for the team. Martin Gibson rounded off the day with another competitive drive, finishing P7 after a hard-fought battle in the pack.
